Antique Ritual Object, Himalayan or Southeast Asian
We don't know exactly what this is, and we've spent some time trying to find out. What we do know: it's old, it's handmade, and it has history.
The oval body is constructed from wood wrapped in tight, intricately knotted rawhide or leather lashing, creating a striking pattern.
Our research points most consistently to a dhyāngro, a traditional shamanic frame drum used by healers in Nepal and Tibet, though it also has similarities to ritual shields from Indonesia and the Philippines.
Whatever its origin, it hangs beautifully on a wall and mixing history with modern interiors is what we’re here for.
