This is the kind of piece you build a room around. A French Louis XV–style double-caned settee with a deep, curved frame, hand-carved floral details, and woven cane panels on both the interior and exterior. The double caning is a mark of higher-quality craftsmanship, requiring significantly more labor than a single-sided finish.

The Louis XV style, rooted in 18th-century French Rococo, is defined by its elegant curves and refined carved ornament. The frame, likely walnut or fruitwood, carries the warm patina of age, and the hand-carved floral medallions along the crest rail are beautifully preserved.

It has been newly reupholstered in a high-end Chantili fabric with a soft, textured weave in a muted blue-grey that shifts subtly in different light. Cool and calm without being cold. It sits beautifully against the warm tones of the cane and wood, and would work well in a modern interior or layered into a collected, eclectic space.

Structurally, the piece is incredibly solid and sturdy. It feels exactly as substantial as it looks.

Condition
