These vintage Japanese chawanmushi cups were produced for Neiman Marcus as part of the retailer’s imported ceramic collections popular throughout the 1970s and ’80s. They were traditionally used for serving chawanmushi, a savory steamed egg custard.

They feature a rounded shape with layered glazes in cream, rust, and deep green. The lids have a sweet fish motif; a playful detail characteristic of these Japanese studio imports.

They're charming. For display in the kitchen or on an open shelf styled among other unique objects.
